Our exciting new Children's Area this year will host a mini off-road course to help children get a feel for the terrain many farmers explore on their daily livestock checks.
This activity is available to children from the age of 3 and parents must be there to supervise their children at all times.
With so much to learn and see at the Show, the Healthy Horticulture marquee is here to take your young children on a journey from field to fork.
Encouraging kids to eat their vegetables can be a battle but learning more about how they're grown and where they come from can help them to get more involved in what goes on their plates. Why not make this your first stop as you enter the showgrounds from Public Entrance 1 and meet our local growers and producers!
Scattered across the showgrounds this year we have new educational displays on your favourite farmyard animals.
With seven new diagrams to find on site, you and your children can explore the anatomy of pigs, cows, sheep and chickens. Our variety of drawings also detail how milk from cows and goats gets transformed into other favourite dairy products, and in the final diagram you can test if your children can name some of the common tack required for looking after horses.
Will you find all seven diagrams? Did you learn anything new?
A returning favourite to the Show, visitors are welcome to check out the Big White Coach in the Healthy Horticulture Area.
Offering free sensory experiences suitable for all ages and abilities, the unmissable double-decker coach will feature a range of activities and sensory equipment. You can find out more about what to expect on their website.
What's a trip to the Balmoral Show without getting close to a whole host of animals!
The Kidz Farm this year will offer interactive experiences to our young visitors helping them to learn about a variety of creatures. From their daily diets to how their natural habitats differ, the Kidz Farm knowledgeable staff will be on hand to help answer any curious questions!
Celebrating their 20th anniversary at the Show, G Force Amusements has something for everyone within the Balmoral Show's Funfair.
Whether you'd like to see the whole Show from the top of the legendary Big Wheel or are ready for some heart racing rides, we promise you won't forget your visit!
This year, the Funfair is also hosting two sensory sessions when music and noise levels will be reduced, sensory lighting effects such as strobes and smoke machines will not be in use, and rides where possible will be slowed down. For further information on these time slots please visit the Accessibility area of our website.
Visiting the Show on Saturday 18th May?
If Show Jumping is on your to-see list, the Main Arena at 12:45pm is the place to be. Our ever-popular Under 10's Championship will see young athletes stand out from the crowd and demonstrate the skills and focus required to compete at a Royal show.
With a climbing wall and bungee trampolines, colouring cube, sheep dog displays, Granny Turismo and Pony Club Games, we hope everyone has a day to remember at this year's Show!
Please be aware, often a family favourite, the Logan Hall (Cattle Hall) is a very busy area and requires closure at certain times whilst cattle are being moved to and from judging.
This is for the safety of the cattle, the exhibitors and you, our visitors. Our priority at all times is that everyone can have a safe experience and unfortunately this means that at times we cannot allow access to the Cattle Hall. Please check back in following guidance from the stewards or visit the Show rings to see all of the action.
