Balmoral Show organisers the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) are delighted to announce a revamped International Show Jumping schedule for the 2026 event.
The changes to last year’s classes have been designed to align with the evolving trends of modern show jumping, offering athletes and spectators a more diverse and exciting range of fixtures at the Show.
The Society also confirmed that the prize money up for grabs will be allocated differently this year with a must-watch international class taking place each day.
On the opening day of this year’s Show, Wednesday 13th May, spectators can look forward to the new International Winning Round Classic competition. Recognising the growing popularity of similar competitions, the RUAS Show Jumping Committee has allocated it the second-largest prize fund of the event, making the first day of this year’s Show just as thrilling for enthusiasts as the last.
The three days of international show jumping will culminate on Friday 15th May with the new International Speed Challenge before all eyes fall on the renowned International Grand Prix, where competitors can also gain valuable points for the Longines Ranking leaderboard.
Course Designer for the show jumping competitions at the Balmoral Show, Colm Quinn, commented, “It is an honour for me to return as the Course Designer for one of the highest profile international show jumping events in Ireland.
“With the volume of spectators that attend, it brings show jumping to a wide range of people from various backgrounds not only equestrian. Therefore, it makes Balmoral a unique event for our sport. Who knows, this may be the first experience of show jumping for a future top athlete!
“I am very much looking forward to the Show and would like to wish a successful week to all involved.”
The Balmoral Show in partnership with Ulster Bank will return to the Eikon Exhibition Centre showgrounds from Wednesday 13th May to Saturday 16th May 2026. For the latest updates on the Show follow Balmoral Show on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
