It was a busy Balmoral Show for the team at Slurryquip this year as on the opening day of the event they were presented with the 2026 New Product Innovation Award by the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society.
This accolade, proudly sponsored by Farming Life and Farm Week was introduced by the RUAS Trade Exhibits Committee in 2025 to reward and recognise innovation within the agricultural industry and highlight new products and services to the Northern Ireland market.
The judges recognised FlowSep from the outset thanks to its ability to provide a unique solution for removing problematic phosphorus from animal slurries and digestates. Using a secondary stage separation process, it is able to remove up to four times more phosphorus than a standard screw press separator.
Its efficient system produces a high-nutrient liquor that can be stored separately or combined with the separated solids. The result is a significant increase in the removal of phosphates and other nutrients compared with traditional slurry separation methods.
Commenting on winning the award, Slurryquip Managing Director Patrick Donnelly said:
“This award is a tremendous recognition of the hard work and innovation behind the FlowSep project.
“Farmers are under growing pressure to manage nutrients more effectively while maintaining productive and profitable businesses. The FlowSep separator has been developed specifically to address these challenges by delivering far greater phosphorus removal performance and helping farms operate more sustainably.”

As worthy winners of the 2026 Balmoral Show New Product Innovation Award, Slurryquip will receive a tailored £1,500 advertising package with the Farming Life/Farm Week to continue to elevate FlowSep within the local agricultural industry.
Commercial Director Diane Burke from Iconic Media Group, parent company of Farming Life and Farm Week said:
“We are thrilled to return as the sponsor of the New Product Innovation Award for the second consecutive year! Supporting the visionaries, disruptors, and pioneers shaping the future of Farming is at the core of what we do. Huge congratulations and well done to Slurryquip."
From this year’s pool of entries CW Agri Ltd were highly commended by the judges for their grassland spot sprayer Rumbojet 880. Also shortlisted were Herdwatch for their innovative app Herdi and Vermeer UK for their professional landscaping machine, the Vermeer BC200 chipper.
