We operate a strict no dogs policy at Balmoral Show with the exception of those taking part in displays or assistance dogs. Visitors with dogs will not be able to enter the Show, so be kind to your dog and leave it at home. We do review this policy each year in light of changing circumstances however we feel that this course of action is best for our Show for the following reasons:
• On average the Show attracts over 30,000 visitors each day and most of the main avenues are very crowded and not suitable for visitors walking dogs.
• There are a number of large livestock and equine areas located around the Showground and some animals are easily agitated in the presence of strange dogs and vice versa.
• Unfortunately not all dog owners are responsible cleaning up dog waste after them and this could present a hygiene issue for other visitors.
• Dogs are not permitted to remain in cars in the car parks owing to the risk of heat exhaustion.
Advance tickets can be purchased online until the Tuesday 9th May, 4pm, the day before the Show and are automatically emailed to the customer.

The Balmoral Show attracts big crowds. This will inevitably result in some delays in entering the site at peak times. Using public transport can actually enhance your journey. See Getting to the Show section on our website. Our best advice is to arrive early – gates open at 9.30am and purchase advance tickets so you can gain entry to the site quickly and efficiently.
We have invested heavily in improving our car parking facilities to keep delays to a minimum. Car parking attendants will guide you to a space.
Car parking is £7 per car. We are encouraging as many showgoers to make use of public transport and have worked with bus operators to ensure convenient drop off and pick up points.
Yes, please ask the attendant on the gate to stamp your hand.
The Balmoral Show is a must for younger visitors – and it’s free for Under 5s to enter. The Children’s Farm is a must-visit for children of all ages. Each area within the Showground has a number of younger attractions including music, cookery theatre, countryside, lifestyle, equestrian and the main ring. The animal parades are a great sight. Many children love tractors so it is worth visiting the machinery trade stands, however please don’t allow children to climb on the displays – it is not safe for them to do so. Finally at this year’s show are free
wristbands for writing a parent or guardian’s phone numbers which helps ensure that you are quickly reunited with your child should you become separated. These can be collected from all entrances.
