Organisers are looking forward to welcoming large crowds back to Balmoral Park for the 2015
Balmoral Show in association with Ulster Bank.
The response to pre Show ticket sales is showing signs of very strong attendance for a third year
and once again visitors are advised to consider their travel plans carefully. To help plan their journey, a
detailed route map has been published.
RUAS Chief Executive, Colin McDonald says, “We want
people to come and enjoy the Show and get here by the quickest and safest route possible. We have worked hard to improve the traffic management plan to improve the flow of traffic around the showgrounds but as with all large events people should be prepared for potential delays. Prepare your route beforehand, leave plenty of time for your journey and follow the directions of the PSNI. We have once again teamed up with Translink to provide public transport options that will offer a stress free alternative to using the car. We would ask people to consider using public transport if Non Show traffic should try to avoid the area when possible during Show hours.”
PSNI District Commander for Lisburn and Castlereagh City District Command Unit, Superintendent
Sean Wright said: “I am delighted to see the Balmoral Show back again this year. This is an excellent day out for everyone and I want everyone to enjoy a positive experience. Please help us to help you by being patient and by driving and parking responsibly. I encourage everyone to use
public transport wherever possible or park only in the designated locations if you have to bring a vehicle. Public safety is of paramount importance to us so anyone parked illegally could get a fixed penalty notice for ignoring parking restrictions. These restrictions will be obvious so please do not ignore them.
“Visitors travelling from the North West should travel down the A26 and along the A3 Moira Road
towards Lisburn. Traffic from the West should take the M1 to Junction 8 where there will be directional signage. Lisburn traffic should take the Moira Road out of Lisburn, while those travelling from
Belfast and the North East should travel South on the M1, coming off at Sprucefield and follow directional signage to Balmoral Park. All traffic from the South should travel up the A1 dual carriageway and follow directional signage.”
